I have a fair bit of time at the moment so I havn’t got many excuses to not practice.

Anyway I’ve followed one ot the links on the web page and am following a program that is set out on basic pronunciation. It’s a bit dull and I might go back to my podcasts. I’l post the lesson as a seperate page on this blog.

Getting Motivated!

I think that learning the language of a country that you are not in is one of the hardest things to do. It’s all about motivation. Well that’s the reason I started this Web Site really, to help me focus on trying to learn Polish. (So far I’m only learning about Web Design – but that’s ok too!)
To get started today I’m just going to read through, write down and say aloud the numbers from one to ten. Simple, yeh, but that’s where I’m at..

Now, if you are following this, you should probably go to the links below to find a phoenetic spelling of these words. Also – Polish characters are different.

Being able to read the Polish sounds is the thing I feel – as a begginer -is the most important. Within the numbers one to 10 are many really good examples of letter sounds that you need to learn to be able to speak polish. Trying to pronounce 3 – trzy – is one of the hardest. Something like t-chi.

For my second little Polish practice today – I go to the podcast – oneminutepolish on Itunes and repeat some of the exercises.
